Silkscreen printed on dyed abacá paper with ink paste of smooth sumac fruit. Abacá or Manila Hemp, is a palm tree fibre widely used in Asia for paper making and weaving. The abacá paper is chine-collé onto the Rives BFK printmaking. The smooth sumac is a plant indigenous to the similkameen river valley of eastern high desert region of British Columbia and Washington state.

The calligraphy is 蠟漆樹粿 oracle Chinese text to name the plant.
